I have been feeling like a fairly good mom lately, not doing anything out of the ordinary really but just sure that teeth are brushed, prayers are said, and stories are read each night before lights out.
I definitely have my days of feeling like "the world's worst mom", not getting a shower in, dishes exploding from my sink, the toilets seeing better days, and the kids not getting much mommy time. I try to get creative with the activities we do together and usual stealing ideas from good friends and family.
But I am starting to realize that my kids really love just the simple things we do together most of all. Allowing them to be involved with cooking meals, reading a book together, playing a game together on nickjr.com, or just playing on the floor together.
I love my kids so much and they definitely make me smile and laugh everyday. Now that they are no longer "babies" I'm trying very hard to savour each moment instead of wishing days away or getting caught up in what is on the schedule for that week.
Just a couple funny things about my kids recently:
Wyatt still isn't taking much but I love some of the things he says like:
nee (for me), cooka (for cookie or treat), and pay pay (for play dough).
Every morning he runs to Vince's side of the bed, pats the bed, and with a very distraught look on his face says, "dada?". He sure does love his dada and gets very excited when he comes home from work.
Reese on the other hand is a spit fire, and that is an understatement.
I found out last week that she pulled her pants down in preschool to show her fellow classmates and teacher where she got a shot from the doctor earlier that day. I was mortified!
On Sunday she came home from church with an original drawing of heaven. There were several hand drawn people on the paper. (all of the people only had one eye) She pointed out the one she said was her great grammy. Then I asked her if the big one was Heavenly Father and she replied, "Yes." Then she tells me that the small one at the top with 8 legs was her Papa and he was a spider in heaven. I asked, Papa that lives in Oregon is in heaven and is a spider? She answered with confidence and a huge smile, "yes". Vince and I turned to each other and tried with everything in us to not laugh in front of her. She has a wonderful imagination and I love her honesty.
